Happy Halloween from Sitehound Vet!

There is so much to think about regarding Halloween pet safety. Is your animal chipped in case they get spooked and run off into the haunted night? Have you kept the chocolate and xylitol out of reach of your favorite furry scavenger? Will your pet feel constricted in his or her costume… or dare we ask… ingest part of their costume?

Taking preventative measures during the holiday guards against traffic incidents, accidental poisoning, and intestinal blockages, allowing the humans to actually enjoy their Halloween festivities. Sadly, sometimes our best efforts to plan for the worst and hope for the best prove futile and our furry friends end up in the ER. If they do, Sitehound Vet is here to prepare any veterinary practice with the peace of mind that they have the tools in place to deliver exemplary service.

Sitehound Vet tracks warranties and offers scheduled maintenance reminders on a practice's large equipment (like ultrasound machines and ECG monitors) ensuring they are in working order and ready for any emergency. It makes seasonal suggestions, reminding a practice that at Halloween time, they have a higher need for emetics, activated charcoal, or beta-blockers. It tracks lot numbers and expiration dates so vets can confidently reach for apomorphine or ropinirole and know it's there. Sitehound even offers temperature sensors so vets can be certain that when their medications and supplies are put in the refrigerator, the correct temperature has been maintained.

Sitehound Vet helps any type of veterinary practice prepare for emergencies. It gives the doctors and patients the peace of mind to confidently enjoy the holidays. Be safe out there!
